Strauss concerts in the 2026/27 season
Richard Strauss will take centre stage in two upcoming concerts with Ricarda Merbeth of the 2026/27 season.
On 19 January 2027, Ricarda Merbeth appears at Musiikkitalo in Helsinki with the Orchestra of the Finnish National Opera under the musical direction of James Hendry. As part of the orchestra’s 2026/27 concert series, she will perform two major vocal works by Strauss: the Brentano Lieder, Op. 68, and the Vier letzte Lieder.
On 8 July 2027, Ricarda Merbeth will perform Vier letzte Lieder and Frühlingsfeier with the Philharmonisches Orchester Würzburg under the musical direction of Mark Rohde.
With these performances, Ricarda Merbeth continues her longstanding engagement with Richard Strauss’ orchestral songs, including two of the composer’s most important late works.
