Orchestra Rai 2026/27: Wagner scenes with Ricarda Merbeth
The Orchestra Rai has announced its 2026/27 season, featuring Ricarda Merbeth in two concerts dedicated to the music of Richard Wagner.
On 14 and 15 January 2027, Ricarda Merbeth will appear at the Auditorium Rai “Arturo Toscanini” in Turin under the musical direction of Pietari Inkinen. The programme brings together some of Wagner’s most iconic orchestral preludes, including the Prelude to Tannhäuser, the Prelude to Der fliegende Holländer and the Prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
The second half of the concert is dedicated to two of Wagner’s most celebrated soprano scenes: the Prelude and Isolde’s Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde and Brünnhilde’s Immolation Scene from Götterdämmerung.
The concerts take place on 14 January 2027 at 8:30 pm and 15 January 2027 at 8 pm at the Auditorium Rai “Arturo Toscanini” in Turin, with Pietari Inkinen conducting the Orchestra Rai.
