Opéra national du Capitole in Toulouse 2026/27: Ricarda Merbeth as The Foreign Princess
In September 2026, Ricarda Merbeth makes her role debut as the Foreign Princess in Antonín Dvořák’s Rusalka at the Opéra national du Capitole in Toulouse.
The production by Stefano Poda, first seen at the Capitole in 2022, returns to Toulouse after its acclaimed premiere run. With its striking visual world, including a stage covered entirely with water, it creates a poetic and dreamlike setting for one of the most moving works in the Czech repertoire.
Ricarda Merbeth joins a cast including Ruzan Mantashyan as Rusalka, Alexander Roslavets as Vodnik, Pavol Breslik as the Prince and Agnieszka Rehlis as Ježibaba. The Orchestre national du Capitole and the Chœur de l’Opéra national du Capitole perform the work in Czech with French surtitles.
